Earlier this week, we had the opportunity to return to one of our flagship projects from last year — the University of Bristol TQEC — to complete minor snagging works and prepare the rooflights for the final handover. The site was unrecognisable from our last visit, now alive with various trades completing the finishing works and signalling how close the project is to Practical Completion.
Standing back, we couldn’t help but feel a genuine sense of pride in our contribution. Our seamlessly installed rooflight screens and subsequent cladding enclosure enabled the wider construction programme to progress as planned and contributed to the building achieving a 100% pass rate in the latest air-seal testing.
If there’s one key lesson this project reinforced for us, it’s this:
Sustainable B2B value is earned by solving challenges alongside clients, helping shape creative solutions, focus mainly on the outcome rather than simply delivering a predefined scope and completing singular, isolated tasks.
That, plainly put, means:
- Reviewing buildability and installation sequencing early
- Identifying access, lifting, logistics, and safety constraints
- Strengthening QA, RAMS, and site management processes
- Highlighting design gaps before they turn into site delays
- Supporting clients with realistic programming and risk awareness
This approach doesn’t always win tenders — but it builds trust. And trust is what leads to repeat work, referrals, and long-term partnerships. At ON FACADES, we’ve learned that helping a client avoid a problem is often more valuable than fixing one later. It results in smoother delivery, safer sites, stronger margins, and better outcomes for everyone involved.
