On this project, we played a major part in remodelling one of the most famous cricket grounds in the world. The two-year phased construction programme consisted of the erection of two new three-tiered stands, positioned on either side of the J.P. Morgan Media Centre. The stands provide significantly enhanced spectator facilities raising the total number of seats to 31,000 as well as increased accessibility and amenities that include associated dining facilities, twelve food-beverage outlets and two hospitality restaurants. Next to the classic CW and Cladding systems, we had to install a complex puzzle of soffits, with no physical grids to refer to, all in curved shapes and sloped angles with no means to correct the squareness of the panels within the SO perimeter while suspended several meters in the air and in the way of a busy site route. Add the previous challenge of coordinating with lots of trades on-site to suit all the service substructures like ducting, electric cables and pipes and we got ourselves a fairly complete set of problems to overcome on a daily basis. Nevertheless, our site team managed to progress well and we are proud of our contribution to delivering this iconic project and ensuring Lord's remains one the best place in the world to watch cricket.
